The tuning specialists over at BBR, a company best known for its 500HP + RS Cosworth builds in the late 80's and 90's and more recently for its Mazda MX5 turbo conversions, are now offering four stages of performance enhancements along with a series of suspension upgrades for the second generation of the Ford Focus RS hot hatch.
In factory guise, the Focus RS comes with a 2.5-liter forced-fed inline-five that churns out 300-horsepower and a peak torque of 295 ft/lbs (400Nm). The tuning firm's £595 Phase 1 package kicks output to 342HP at 6,150rpm and 369 ft/lbs at 3,350rpm through an ECU remap.
Priced at £1,245 plus a fitting charge of £195.00, the Phase 2 kit includes an ECU upgrade and custom high-flow intercooler and inlet hose pushing output to 355HP at 6,580rpm and 378 ft/lbs between 3,000-4600rpm.
In addition to the Phase 2 upgrade, BBR's Phase 3 conversion includes a new exhaust system and high-flow fuel injectors raising output 382HP at 6,080rpm and 388 ft/lbs between 3,000-4,650rpm. This kit is priced at £2,495 with a fitting charge of £345.
The ultimate package is the Phase 4 kit which is priced at £3,895 plus £595 for fitting. It enhances the Phase 3 package with a new turbocharger as well as custom fuel pump bumping output to 404HP at 6,220rpm and 408 ft/lbs at 3,380rpm.
For those that want to improve handling, BBR also offers its own performance springs (Price £195, fitting charge £300 including a full geometry setup) and Koni adjustable dampers (Price £795.00, fitting charge £300.00, including full geometry setup).
