Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore Special Launched at Qatar Motor Show

The 2011 Qatar Motor Show that runs from January 26 to 29 appears to have captured the attention of the VW Group as a whole. Following yesterday's unveiling of the VW XL1 hybrid coupe concept, the German familia's sportiest brand, Lamborghini, lifted the wraps off a special edition version of the Gallardo called Bicolore.

The limited run model will be produced for the European and Asian-Pacific markets in the LP 560-4 guise, which means it gets a 560HP V10 and all-wheel drive, while for the American market it will be only available in the version LP 550-2 featuring a 550HP V10 and rear-wheel drive configuration.

As its name implies, the special series features a unique two-tone finish with a matching interior. On the outside, the pillars, roof, engine hood and rear spoiler are painted in a pastel black that contrasts perfectly with the lower area of the body, available in a choice of five shades (Giallo Midas, Arancio Borealis, Grigio Telesto, Bianco Monocerus and Blu Caelum).

The Gallardo's exterior appearance is further enhanced by the 15-spoke forged alloy wheels finished in titanium gray enamel, and the gloss black finish air-intakes, front spoiler and upper section of the rear diffuser.

The two-tone theme is repeated inside, but in a more understated manner. The instrument panel, seats, door panels and other elements in the passenger compartment are upholstered in black leather with contrast stitching colored to match the exterior paintwork (yellow, orange, blue or gray). The black bezel of the e-gear transmission on the center console completes the look.

Pricing is to be announced at a later date.

Say Again? Lamborghini Sesto Elemento up for Sale in Germany...

Unless we're missing something here or we've somehow managed to imitate Marty McFly and travel into the future, Lamborghini's Paris Motor Show Sesto Elemento lightweight supercar remains a one-off concept model - at least officially and for now.

That said, we find it hard to explain the sale of the car by German luxury and supercar dealer, Auto Salon Singen, on Mobile.de. In the description, the alleged seller claims that Lamborghini will build 10 examples of the Sesto Elemento, but they won't be street legal. The price of the... future supercar is set at €2,261,900 including 19% VAT (tax), or just shy of US$3 million. Any explanation(s) are welcome.

Hat tip to Marcus for the find!

Hamann Turns Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 into Victory II

German tuning firm Hamann decided it was time to update its Victory performance and styling package for the Lamborghini Gallardo and adapt it to the newer version of the Italian supercar, the LP560-4. The Victory II adds a flamboyant paint job along with a wide body kit and the not-so necessary, but apparently welcome by buyers, power upgrades.

On the styling side, Hamann's designers developed a new body kit with front and rear fender extensions, matching side skirts, a roof scoop channelling air to the engine compartment, a front apron and a rear apron housing a new diffuser and exhaust tail pipes. There's also an available rear wing made of fibre glass or carbon fiber, while the bonnet can also receive the carbon fiber treatment.

The Lamborghini Victory II's exterior is finished in a matte black colour with contrasting dark red detailing. The finishing touch is a new set of 20 inch Edition Race rims with a special varnish, shod in 235/30ZR20 tyres at the front and 325/25ZR20 tyres at the back.

The interior of the Gallardo is enhanced by a 14-part carbon fiber trim set in a red finish covering most parts of the cabin, along with new sport bucket seats featuring a carbon fiber back, and unique floor mats.

In the performance division, by tweaking the V10 engine's electronics, Hamann's engineers managed to pull out another 20 ponies lifting total output to 580HP with a maximum torque of 575Nm. According to the tuner, the Gallardo Victory II can reach a top speed of 328 km/h or 204 mph.

For pricing, you'll have to contact Hamann directly as the tuner did not release any information on the matter.
